The training is led by Prof Aimee SpectorProfessor of Clinical Psychology of Aging, Director of the UCL Dementia Training Academy www.ucldementiatrainingacademy.org and Director of the International Cognitive Stimulation Therapy (CST) Center at University College London (UCL) www.ucl.ac.uk/international-cognitive-stimulation-therapy.

Her expertise lies in the global development and evaluation of complex interventions for dementia and general aging. She collaborates with more than 38 countries and supports CST for dementia training centers in Denmark, Norway, Germany, USA, Hong Kong, Australia, and New Zealand. Prof Spector has published over 160 reviewed papers, 5 book chapters, and 10 books.

Certification of attendance signed by Prof Aimee Spector will be provided.

"Cognitive Stimulation Therapy" (CST), is a group therapy based on the biopsychosocial model of disease management and aims to improve cognitive and social functioning in individuals with mild and moderate symptoms of dementia. CST sessions focus, among other things, on multisensory stimulation, implicit learning, encourage "individuality" and utilize cognitive skills within a social context, but not as the primary focus of therapy. It is conducted in groups of 5-8 individuals, twice a week, under the guidance of two facilitators trained in CST. The sessions cycle is completed in 14 meetings. A longer-term maintenance therapy (Maintenance CST - mCST) might follow.

The purpose of the seminar is to gain a comprehensive understanding of Cognitive Stimulation Therapy and to acquire the skills and techniques required by CST group facilitators. It is an interactive training that includes group exercises, role-playing, and video observation.

The integration of CST principles and practices has practical applications in the broader clinical population..

The seminar will be held in English.

Registrations will not be accepted after September 30th.  The number of participants is limited, and priority will be given on a first-come, first-served basis.

In case of cancellation of registration until July 30, 2024, 50% of the already paid amount will be withheld. After the aforementioned date, no refunds will be issued. For cancellations, please contact the seminar organizing company at info@mentalhealthsolutions.gr. Refunds will be processed within one month after the end of the conference.

In the event of seminar cancellation by the organizers, a full refund of the paid amount will be made within 15 days from the date of cancellation.
